Coventry High School

GPD Group was selected as the Criteria Architect to provide programming and concept and schematic design for the new building. The new high school will house over 700 students in grades 9-12 and will combine the typical academic core spaces of classrooms, science labs and computer labs, gymnasiums and a multi-purpose lecture room / auditorium. This is the first high school in the state of Ohio to be funded through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) and completed as a design-build project. Because of the project’s unique location adjacent to the Portage Lakes in Summit County, care was taken in the design with respect to the nearby wetlands as well as to incorporate some of the uniqueness of the heritage and biological importance.
