Libraries

This project was a new three-story addition and interior renovation to the historic Bucyrus Public Library. This 14,844 square foot addition includes the design of a new handicapped accessible entry lobby and stair tower, full size elevator, adult stacks and reading areas, study rooms, circulation desk and administrative offices as well as 8,000 square feet of renovated spaces in the existing 1906 era Carnegie building. In addition, the design offers new A/V media facilities, meeting rooms, kitchen and a new second floor young adult and children’s department. The scope of work also included the window replacement of oversized units in the historic 1906 Carnegie library, a roof replacement on the 1906 and 1986 addition, a new HVAC system throughout, and electrical power and lighting improvements and a 400 sf section of existing masonry wall was restored (cleaned and tuck pointed) that became an interior focal point in the new addition.
