An Ongoing Wastewater Improvement Plan in Ashtabula

In order to address equipment and structure failures in compliance with an Ohio EPA request for various improvements to its water pollution control facility, the City of Ashtabula partnered with GPD to conduct a plant evaluation study and plan a solution.

GPD prepared a comprehensive, $24M capital improvement program (CIP) and helped secure over $8M in funding. To date, over $8M of funded improvements have been constructed, including a new UV disinfection system, rehabilitation of two final settling tanks and the primary settling tank, renovation of three sludge digesters and plantwide electrical improvements.
