65 Years of Giving Back

For 65 years, serving our communities has been part of who we are. From partnerships with local organizations to holiday giving programs, we believe it’s our responsibility to give back to the communities that have given us so much.

That spirit is driven by our people. As we celebrate this milestone and look forward, our commitment to volunteerism remains as strong as ever. It’s woven into our culture and continues to shape who we are and how we grow.

Each year, our employees contribute an average of 2,500 volunteer hours. Whether it’s mulching public spaces, supporting charitable events, or tutoring in local schools, our teams show up and make a difference.

Recently, GPD was recognized as the 2026 Community Donor Award Winner by Summit County Children Services. Watch to learn more.

In 2014, we expanded that impact by establishing The GPD Employees’ Foundation, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving the lives of children in our communities. Through the Foundation, we award grants to K–12 public schools to enhance educational experiences and support nonprofit organizations serving at-risk children and those with special or medical needs. In 2025, the Foundation introduced a new sponsorship program called The Game Changers that allows us to develop true partnerships and make larger and longer lasting impacts on organizations.

Since inception, our Foundation has awarded 1,671 grants totaling $6,840,000, positively impacting the lives over 3 million children.

In addition to the GPD Employees’ Foundation, GPD also hosts periodic “non-profit fairs,” bringing together 15–20 local organizations to educate employees on their missions and connect them with opportunities to get involved.

As we reflect on 65 years, we’re proud of the moments captured along the way – neighbors helping neighbors, teams coming together, and communities growing stronger.

We believe our impact goes beyond the roads, buildings, and infrastructure we design. Service is at the core of who we are, and it will continue to guide us for years to come.

“We value our relationship with GPD so much it has become family.  We love that you volunteered at camp this year and appreciate that you want to be involved well beyond the financial support.  It really makes for a strong connection to our mission and our team.
