ODNR - Statewide Restroom Upgrades FY23-24: East & Southeast Districts
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) developed a master plan initiative for improvements throughout the entire state park system. As part of this effort, GPD was tasked with designing 13 new flush restroom facilities at 11 State of Ohio Parks. Due to the remote location of these park facilities, 7 new onsite sewage treatment systems were also designed for large, seasonally fluctuating usage in restrictive conditions. These systems required pretreatment, peak flow storage, distribution systems to meet high demand periods and soil-based treatment fields.
Through partnering sessions with ODNR, GPD evaluated relocations and alternative building construction options to meet the construction budget for this statewide program. The primary focus is on providing clean, safe, and adequate restroom facilities for park visitors. With our comprehensive approach and attention to detail, ODNR can confidently expect high-quality restroom facilities across various parks throughout the East and Southeast Districts, enhancing the overall experience for park visitors and contributing to the success of their master planning initiative. Construction is expected through 2025.
