Committed to Making a Difference
At GPD, we believe it’s our responsibility to give back to the communities we serve. We are committed to making positive and lasting impacts that go beyond the roads, buildings and structures we design. In the same way servant leadership is at the core of our organization, we see serving those we work for as central to our identity.
Through our volunteer efforts, our mentorship programs, the GPD Group Employees’ Foundation and more, we work hard to help our communities grow and thrive, because without them, we couldn’t do what we love.
Building Communities. Working Together.
GPD believes in volunteering in our communities, creating meaningful mentorships and making a difference in the lives of children.
Community
For us, working in the community is so much more than getting a job done—it’s about building relationships and providing resources that support people for the long run. Each year, GPD employees complete an average of 2,500 volunteer hours in our communities. From mulching public spaces to participating in charity events to tutoring in schools, we make volunteerism a cornerstone of the GPD experience.
My experience at GPD has been both rewarding and humbling. With so many opportunities, I always gain a new perspective on the community and its needs. And when we put our minds and muscles together, we always surpass expectations. Seeing the generosity and commitment from members of my GPD family inspires me to help in ways I may not have otherwise.”
Mentorship
We believe in using our skills and experience to guide future leaders and propel them forward, doing our part to elevate our industry and our communities. Through initiatives like our co-op and internship programs and our Minority Business Incubator Program, we give our future leaders the resources and experiences they need to be successful. We also encourage and support our employees who are interested in participating in professional and community advisory boards to continue evolving as professionals.
My experience here has been nothing but phenomenal. I enjoy my work, but what stands out is the people here at GPD. Everyone has been very helpful and cares deeply about each other’s success. That’s not something one finds just anywhere. I have made many friends here, and I look forward to coming into work each day. Many companies have the work to offer to co-ops, but none have the culture GPD has.”
Foundation
GPD Group Employees’ Foundation mission is simple: Make a difference in the lives of children. By focusing our efforts of improving kids’ K-12 experiences and supporting at-risk children and those with medical or special needs, we are developing a long-term commitment to our communities. Each year, the Foundation receives hundreds of applications, and awards hundreds of grants to public schools, hospitals and nonprofit organizations that make positive impacts where they are needed most.
It has been through their compassionate volunteers, smiles and enthusiasm that they have helped create hope, happiness and healing for critically ill children through the Adventures of A Kid Again. It is because of them, A Kid Again can help more and more kids put illness aside to be the kids they are meant to be.”
