Providing a Strong Signal in the U.S. Senate

In Washington, D.C., several Capitol Hill buildings offered limited radio frequency (RF) coverage, making it problematic for occupants to communicate within the facilities. To determine the root cause of the issue, GPD was chosen to conduct RF coverage surveys in 19 buildings using wide band spectrum analyzer equipment.

Survey results showed a need for ultra high frequency (UHF) coverage enhancements. By utilizing active devices such as bidirectional amplifiers and distributed antenna systems, GPD efficiently determined which buildings did not meet the standards for acceptable coverage. These benchmark reports spurred action items that resulted in turnkey solutions for each facility requiring RF enhancement.
