A Revitalized, Accessible City Park

In an effort to increase quality of life, social equity and access to greenspace across the its diverse socioeconomic population, the City of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, partnered with GPD to revitalize a major central city park.

Improvements to Oakville Park prioritized safety, accessibility and operational impairments while also making improvements that elevate the overall quality and visual appeal of the park. The project provided connections to the neighborhood and organized new sidewalks with the park to tie elements together. New features provide opportunities for gathering and hosting events while creating spaces for active recreation, including youth baseball fields, a 1,000-square-foot pavilion, a new ADA-compliant path, a renovated playground and the addition of 26 new parking spaces.
