Optimizing the Retail Experience at RaceTrac

Since 2013, RaceTrac gas stations have relied on GPD for a variety of architectural and engineering initiatives throughout the Southeast. Most recently, GPD developed a comprehensive remodel strategy to refresh the store brand presence, accommodate new offerings and increase store traffic.  

GPD developed a design strategy based on marketing input, customer insights and merchandise and food offerings. The team leveraged the strategy to develop conceptual design options and introduced BIM technology to create and maintain nine prototype formats, virtual reality (VR) and illustration models. This approach resulted in a more appealing store design and experience that are attracting and engaging more customers—all while shortening the development cycle and reducing costs. To date, we have completed over 160 remodels and 165 ground-up new stores and maintain the prototype monthly.
